Detailed Benefits
I’ve added a more detailed description of what I believe the benefits to users are of Zooom/2. If you think I’ve missed something, I’d be more than happy to get some feedback about it.Each of the benefits below has a link that points to the documentation, explaining the feature more fully.
• Save time, do more
Move and resize your windows with a flick of the mouse. With Zooom/2, moving and resizing any window is as easy as placing the mouse cursor anywhere inside it, holding down a shortcut key and then moving the mouse.Zooom/2’s benefit is: elimination of the need to be accurate, by using the entire surface of a window as the target for these operations - you don’t need to think about where the mouse is when moving or resizing a window. more...
• Easy to Install, Easy to Learn
Zooom/2 has a package installer - making installation really easy. By using an installer, we can run an interactive tutorial application after the install - which provides new users a very soft introduction to using Zooom/2. more...• Reduce Clutter
Use the magnetics feature (2nd tab) to align/snap windows to each other, or to the screen edges and/or dock. Try it and notice the thin overlay grid that appears (its the 'Show grid while moving or resizing option') - this grid helps to visualize the other visible edges of every other window. You can tell Zooom/2 to activate magnetics for move and/or resize as well.An additional guide is available in the form of the 'virtual grid'. The idea here is that you can overlay a simple grid with regular spacings (configured at the bottom of this tab) to which windows will snap to - meaning the user can choose how and when they'd like snapping to occur. more...
• Raise Windows
Bring windows to the front by moving the mouse over the window. Many unix users love this one. The user can choose which windows get raised, either: (a) just the window under the mouse, or (b) all windows for the application under the mouse. This can be fine tuned with a shortcut key as well - so that windows are only raised when the shortcut key is pressed and the mouse is moved over the window. more...• Solid as a Rock
Zooom/2 doesn't use any form of code injection - I added this as a benefit because I've seen some concern raised by users about haxies and input managers. Users want to know that the program is going to work for them in the coming Mac OS X release - and that isn't always the case when code injection is used. There’s more info at MacOSXHints (opens in a new window).• 3 for 1 License
Buy a copy of Zooom/2, and use it on up to three machines. Nice for users with more than 1 machine! It’s only for personal users, any for-profit / commercial business needs to buy a copy of Zooom/2 for each user.• Double Tap to Zoom
Another time saver, is the double-tap to zoom ability. If you hold down either the resize or move keyboard shortcut and then double click the left mouse button, Zooom/2 will basically hit the little green button on the window for you - making zoom in/out just as easy as move and resize.• Ignore List
There's more - the Ignore List allows the user to specify which apps Zooom/2 should totally ignore - because sometimes there can be keystroke shortcut conflicts between Zooom/2 and other apps, and its good to have a way to avoid that. By adding applications into the ignore list - you can control which functions of Zooom/2 should be active. more...Thanks, and I hope you enjoy using Zooom/2!
